Dr. Zaidi’s research spans power systems, electrical machines, signal processing and smart grids. He has led PSRL’s flagship efforts — from developing an indigenous Advanced Metering Infrastructure with USPCAS-E to gold-medal-winning FPGA-based fault analysis of electrical machines — and supervises MS/PhD scholars and undergraduate research across the lab’s portfolio.

Experienced in supervised learning, data visualization and time–frequency analysis. Developed an algorithm for prediction of epileptic seizures and filed a patent for a device that predicts seizures and releases medication automatically.
